The Vision of The Church of the Transfiguration is to be a community that is:

~Rooted in Christ.  Bound Together in Love.  Called to Ministry.~

Our Worship Community - We are Rooted in Christ

Worship is the heart of our community, and lay participation is an essential element in our services and throughout our parish.  Worshipping together has helped us develop a close-knit, caring community.  From our worship, we have been inspired to reach out to each other and the community as a church, as members of this church and as individuals.

Our Parish Community - We are Bound in Love

We are a parish family of different backgrounds, opinions, interests and skills.  We consider this diversity 'strength'.  While Transfiguration is home for a number of Braddock Heights and Frederick residents, it also draws a number of people who live in the small towns around Frederick County because of it's deep and active faith.  We are eagerly looking forward to expanding our church, our spiritual life and our membership.  While we are ready for change, we appreciate our traditions as a church family and as Episcopalians.  We are a community of about 180 members, with an average Sunday worship attendance of 100.

Our Episcopal Community - We are Called to Ministry

The Church of the Transfiguration is one of nine parishes in the Frederick County Regional Council.  We actively participate in regional council and it's activities.  We are part of the Diocese of Maryland.  The diocesan camp, conference and retreat center, the Bishop Claggett Center, is located in our county.  We have a newly organized committee structure in several key areas of church life and ministry.
