 Our Rector, The Rev. Henry Sabetti

In February of 2004, the Rev. Henry M. Sabetti joined us as our 3^rd Rector. Fr. Sabetti was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 1999. Graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1998, he served as Curate at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Lutherville, MD, from 1998 –2000. In 2001 he accepted a call to serve as Chaplain at the Saint Francis Academy in Salina, Kansas. During his three years with Saint Francis Academy, Fr. Henry held the position of Executive Director of the Residential Treatment Unit for SFA in Ellsworth, Kansas. In 2004, feeling drawn to return to parish life and the Diocese of Maryland; he relocated and began as Transfiguration's Rector. In addition to serving as Rector, he is a member of the Commission on Ministry in the Diocese of Maryland; the Bishop’s Task Force For the Prevention of Teen Suicide and is on the Board of Director’s for Episcopal Carmel of Saint Teresa. He is a member of the Middletown Ministerium and the Frederick Regional Clericus.

Fr. Henry is a graduate of Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana and received a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University in Indianapolis. As a lay person he was employed as a clinical social worker in several settings, including inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency treatment, counselor and coordinator of alcohol and drug awareness on a college campus, an acute care psychiatric unit and outpatient therapy.

He is lovingly “owned” by three dogs and two cats. Jack, a stray dog from Appalachia that he rescued, serves as Parish Mascot. As a  nationally recognized breeder of Holland Lop and Britannia Petite Rabbits, Fr. Henry competes regularly in shows in the Mid-Atlantic area and in national conventions and specialties.
