Our Church
In the spring of 2003, ground breaking ceremonies were held for our current church building. Services began on the Feast of the Transfiguration Sunday in August of 2004. Shortly after, the Rt. Rev. John Rabb, Bishop Suffragan, celebrated a service of consecration. Currently the church seats 165 people in contemporary style chairs that can be rearranged for differing liturgical seating styles or other occasions. The building is fully accessible for persons with special needs. The church is equipped with an Allen Organ and excellent acoustics, enhanced by a state of the art speaker system enclosed by specially designed and constructed grill work. Supplementing our Sunday musical selections is a baby grand piano, a generous gift from a long time parishioner.

Our Children's Room
Children have a special and prominent
place at Transfiguration. While we realize that our future depends upon
their spiritual and religious formation,
they are an integral part of the here
and now. Children are welcome for the entire service, but our children's
room can be utilized at the discretion of parents. Older children and
adults monitor the children's room when occupied. Using the door to the nave
(main seating area), children are easily accessible not only to their parents,
but also for children's sermons and communion.
Our Nave and Sanctuary
Baptism marks our entrance to the Christian life. The Baptismal Font used in the original church next door (currently Memorial Hall) is placed at the entrance to the nave and filled each Sunday with Holy water. The font is a significant reminder of the sacrament of new life found in Baptism and one's lifelong vows made through the Baptismal Covenant, as found in The Book of Common Prayer.
The Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion, The Lord's Supper) is celebrated each Sunday. We practice an open communion at Transfiguration. ALL PERSON'S ARE WELCOME TO RECEIVE THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.
The altar, cross, sanctuary candle and ambry (which hold the reserved bread and wine) were also taken from the previous sanctuary and are visual symbols for worship.
A Few Notes About Getting Married at Transfiguration
Counseling and pre-marital preparation is scheduled by appointment with the Rector.
There is an expectation that the couple attend the parish or another Episcopal church. Persons considering a Christian marriage are encouraged to speak with Fr. Henry.
Members of other churches, denominations and faiths may use the church for marriage services following consultation with the Rector.
Memorial Hall may be utilized for wedding receptions following the service.
A fee schedule for the church and Memorial Hall can be obtained by calling the Rector or Parish Administrator.
