THE COLUMBARIUM AT THE CHURCH OF THE TRANFIGURATION
Memorial Garden & Columbarium
The Columbarium is a sacred space for interring remains of loved ones. It is available to all in the community.
Throughout Church history, burial of the dead in a sacred space has been a common practice. There is the desire, by keeping one's earthly remains in or near a Church, to continue to be part of the great Communion of Saints of both the living and the dead.
In recent years, environmental and economic factors have made a Columbarium a respectful, meaningful choice for inurnment when a nearby cemetery is not available or affordable.
The Church of the Transfiguration has erected a Columbarium within its Church grounds which is accessible for prayer and gatherings of remembrance. Past Church members and relatives are presently inurned there.
Further information about The Church of the Transfiguration's Columbarium, funeral planning, inurnment or flower memorial placement may be obtained by speaking to the Rector or by calling the Church Office (301-371-7505).

"Father of all, we pray to you for those we love, but see no longer: Grant them your peace; let light perpetual shine upon them; and, in your loving wisdom and almighty power, work in them the good purpose of your perfect will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen"
