Children and Youth Christian Education

In the last parish profile, Christian Education and Spiritual formation for children, youth and adults was identified as a major goal of the parish.  Following the formation of a Christian Education Committee, a survey of major resources and renovation of the classrooms in Memorial Hall, a Sunday morning program has been developed using two lectionary based programs.  Younger children meet on Sunday mornings for the Godly Play program.  This is an experiential based program using figures and other articles that tell the Biblical stories in a classroom setting.

Older youth participate in a classroom setting using the Episcopal children's curriculum for youth.  Biblical and age based theological themes are presented each week from September through May. 

We are in the process of assembling a core group of older youth for the formation of an ongoing youth group that will participate in group service and recreational activities.
