Adult Christian Education

Years ago, Christian education centered around children and youth.  Over the past several years, adult learning and adult forums have taken on a new meaning and precedence in the Episcopal Church.  At Transfiguration, we believe that Christian education and formation is a lifelong process.  On Sunday mornings, at 9:00 am, adults meet to study and discuss topics such as the Church's teaching series, traditional versus contemporary understandings of the nature of Jesus Christ and other theological, biblical and historical concepts.  Also, we have had a variety of speakers present issues relevant to local, Diocesan, national and international ministries.

Each year, during the Lenten season, we have a Lenten Soup and Study on Wednesday evenings.  Topics in the past have included a video series on "The Book of Daniel", the PBS series "From Jesus to Christ", a book study using Darwin's God, by Kenneth Miller, led by a parishioner, who is also a biology professor from Loyola University in Baltimore.

From time to time throughout the year the Rector invites guest preachers who facilitate an adult forum discussion.
