Thank you for visiting our website. Let us tell you a little about us. An Episcopal Church has been located in Braddock Heights, Maryland since the early 1960s. We are located on the corner of Maryland and Urner Avenues, one block south of Rt. 40, the Old National Road. There is a Biblical significance to the church’s name inspired by its beautiful setting on the top of the Catoctin Range of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Read the story of the Transfiguration of our Lord in Matthew 17:1 – 8, Mark 9:2 – 8 and Luke 9:28 – 36.
A stated goal of the original founding members was for church life and worship style to be in “an open and friendly style.” This style is an important aspect of our congregation’s identity to this day. We use contemporary language Rite II for both our 8:00 AM and 10:15 AM Sunday morning worship services. Reverence and warm and friendly fellowship are hallmarks of our worship together.
In a few weeks, our Parish Profile will be completed and posted on this website. This Profile will tell you a lot more about us.
The best way to learn about us is to join us for worship. The first followers of Jesus told their friends and acquaintances about him. (John 1:46) We invite you, too, to “come and see.” We look forward to meeting you in person.
